Welcome to the Psychobiological Determinants of Health Lab!
About Us
We are a research lab located in the Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia. Our research is aimed at exploring the relationship between psychological stress and physical health in both childhood and adulthood. We are interested in learning more about the psychosocial and psychobiological pathways involved in the stress-health relationship. We have a special interests in chronic stressors, particularly those related to low socioeconomic status and caregiving for an ill family member, and the cascading influence they have on the endocrine, immune, and metabolic systems over time.

Current research projects in our lab include:

 Biological Embedding of Early-Life SES

 Family LINKS Study

 The Psychobiology of Caregiving

We are also collaborating on several other research projects, including the Canadian Healthy Infant Longitudinal Study and the Montreal Health and Aging Study.

If you are interested in learning more about health psychology, please join us for the 2011 Health Psychology Brownbag Seminar Series held in the Suedfeld Lounge (Kenny Building), Department of Psycholgy, UBC.
