About MeI was born in Rhode Island (the smallest state) and since my dad was in the military, I've lived all over the US. For undergrad, I attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. I've been at UBC since 2007 and will be finishing my PhD this year. My husband, Ronnie Pavlov is a math professor at University of Denver in Colorado. My research is on individual differences in beliefs and moral behavior. I'm currently working on a number of projects with my advisor Del Paulhus. I've developed a scale measuring a construct called Need for Mystery, which was presented at SPSP in 2009 and at CPA this past summer. My master's work was on a measure of belief in Free Will and Determinism (FAD-Plus) which was published in the Journal of Personality Assessment in 2011. I am also working on studies addressing individual differences in altruism. You can see more details in my Research Statement. PublicationsPaulhus, D. L. & Carey, J. M. (2011).
