Metascience
A newer interest in the lab is metascience. I have published work describing potential
causes
of and
solutions
for the replication crisis.
While we believe the replication crisis is real and urgent, we do not always agree with popular proposed solutions, such as preregistration badges. We are interested in how features such as appropriate sample sizes, robustness checks, measurement validity, and transparency can support robust psychological science. We also believe certain kinds of studies are disproportionately susceptible to non-transparent researcher degrees of freedom and therefore fragility (e.g., experimental vs correlational, low vs high sample size, low vs high measurement reliability, social vs personality psychology studies).
